Microdosing for drug delivery application—A review

چکیده

There is an increasing amount of research on microfluidic actuators with the aim to improve drug dosing applications. Micropumps are promising as they reduce size and energy consumption concepts enable new therapies. Even though there evident advantages, only few examples industrial microdosing units micropump technology has not yet found widespread application. To answer evoked question what limits application for delivery, this work provides a comprehensive insight into subject dosing. We highlight analyse specific challenges requirements in medical dosing: safety relevant aspects, such prevention freeflow backflow; dosing-specific requirements, precision stability; system-specific size, weight, power restrictions or economic aspects. Based these we evaluate suitability different mechanical micropumps actuation mechanisms administration. In addition work, present systems that commercially available close market release. then summarize outstanding technical solutions ensure sufficient fluidic performance, guarantee safe use, fulfil microdosing.
